Scope |
The project is limited to the replacement of the existing Rock Springs Road low-water crossing across the Mojave River with a new bridge and realignment of Rock Springs Road. The new bridge will be south of the existing low-water crossing. Roadway approaches will be constructed to conform to the existing alignment of the road, improvements include curb, gutter, sidewalk and drainage improvements. The bridge will be approximately 950 feet long, 46.5 feet wide to include two 12-foot lanes, two 4- foot shoulders, one 4-foot median, and a 6-foot sidewalk on the south side, and would range from 12 feet to 20 feet in height when measured from the river bottom. Existing utilities, including electricity, phone, gas, and irrigation will be relocated or protected in place.
The project also includes, but not limited to construction of rock slope protection, roadway excavation, embankment, shoofly road construction, RCP Storm drains, AC paving, concrete barriers, signing, striping, and CIDH construction.
Temporary staging areas and stockpiling will occur on the eastern side of the project area. Equipment anticipated includes excavators, loaders, flatbed and pickup trucks, skid steers, dump trucks, compactors, cranes, concrete mixer trucks, truck-mounted concrete boom pumps, water wagons, pile driver, pile oscillators/rotators, pile rotary drillings, and rigs.

Ames requires a bond from subcontractors when the contract minimum is $250,000.
