Scope The intent of this Invitation for Bid is to resolve moisture intrusion and heat gain in the Public Works Administration Building (Building #1). This project will increase the energy efficiency of the building, which includes the current code requirement of continuous insulation. Improve the safety of the facility during natural disasters and allow the building to be operational. Replace window assemblies with missile impact, "E" rated frames and tinted low- E glazing. Install spandrel glass at floor slabs. Install hurricane-rated doors.

Project scope includes:
  1. The demolition of the existing curtain wall system and the design and installation of new thermally sealed curtain wall systems and shading elements to reduce solar gain to the building envelope.
  2. Minor interior alterations to receive new curtain wall systems.
  3. Landscaping and civil alterations, including replanting existing trees and plants in kind.
  4. Project to be phased, demolition and new construction. Phasing of construction to consist of 4 major zones that are segmented into sections as shown in the architectural documents. Existing building envelope must maintain life safety requirements and to be weather sealed during demolition and new construction.
